Rishiv Tanguturi of Bengaluru gets the title of Intelligent Toddler

Bengaluru: The record for being an intelligent toddler is set by Rishiv Tanguturi (born on January 12,2018) of Bengaluru, Karnataka. He can identify 56 cartoon characters, 53 airline logos, 55 company logos, 23 musical instruments, 64 car logos, 20 scientists, 50 billionaires with their sources of income, 27 Hindu gods and goddesses, 45 traffic signals, 24 sea animals, 55 flags, 36 tourist destinations of the world, all keyboard keys and Chess pieces. He can also identify and sort out Australian dollars, at the tender age of 2 years and 11 months, as confirmed by the Asia Book of Records (ABR).

Rishiv first got featured in the India Book of Records (2019) and now in Asia Book of Records (2020) for his exceptional memory. He can also identify 57 flowers, 50 dog breeds, 20 chilies and all the prime ministers of Australia.

His parents say, "During the tender age of 8 months, our son was able to differentiate the colors, for example, light blue vs dark blue. We understood that for this age, it's quite difficult to identify and we capitalized on it. We started introducing him to Country flags flashcards at the age of 9 months and he was able to identify around 50 country flags at the age of 10 months. He was able to point out the right country flag when we named the country. This was where we realized that he is blessed with photogenic memory and we introduced him to various other topics. Anything that we introduced him to, he picked it up in a week's time."

"We used play-based techniques and spent 15 minutes a day to achieve this. During the initial days when we introduced flashcards to him (the cards that were shown are Australia, India, Canada, and USA) he picked them up correctly. We thought he has picked this in a random fashion and we forgot about this incident. After a week we asked him 50 country flags and he was able to identify 44 out of 50 correctly."

The news of record filled the parents with pride. "Being in Australia representing for Asia Book of Records is something that we will remember lifelong." Their message to other parents is: Spend few minutes a day with your kid. If the children are given an opportunity and the right tools to make them learn in a fun way, any kid can achieve impossible levels.
